Vehicle lookup and online booking
What happens if the vehicle registration lookup does not work?
If the lookup is unsuccessful or important vehicle details are missing, the website will show all online-bookable services and every available engine-size price band. You can select the correct options manually, or call us on 01256 321012 if you are unsure.
How do I choose the correct engine-size band?
Use the engine capacity shown on the vehicle’s registration document or manufacturer information. The bands are displayed as clear engine-size ranges. If the engine size cannot be confirmed, contact us before completing the booking.
Can I book more than one service at the same time?
Yes. Compatible services can be added to one selection before you choose a date and time. The website prevents combinations that duplicate work, such as Silver and Gold services together or a separate diagnostic test with a Gold Service.
When do I choose the appointment date and time?
First select the required services. The website then shows the combined price and total workshop time before you continue to the calendar to choose an available appointment.
MOT questions
Which MOT option should I choose?
Cars and light vans normally use the Class 4 option. Motorhomes have a separate Class 4 option, while eligible vans and minibuses use the Class 5 and 7 option. If the vehicle classification is unclear, contact us before booking.
When will the website recommend an MOT?
An MOT is recommended when the recorded expiry date is 28 days away or sooner, or when the MOT has already expired. You can still choose the appropriate MOT from the other services when it is not yet recommended.
Can I select an MOT and an MOT retest together?
No. A full MOT and an MOT retest are alternative appointments, so the booking journey allows one or the other. When the vehicle is identified, the retest is shown only where its age indicates eligibility. If the lookup is unavailable, all options are shown and you should select a retest only if it applies to your vehicle.
How early should I arrive for an MOT?
Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before the appointment start time so the vehicle can be checked in without delaying the reserved MOT slot.
Servicing and vehicle care
What is the difference between a Silver and Gold Service?
A Silver Service covers the essential routine checks and maintenance items. A Gold Service is more comprehensive and includes additional workshop checks and diagnostic work. The servicing page provides a side-by-side comparison.
Can I add a diagnostic test to a Gold Service?
No. Diagnostic work is already included in the Gold Service, so the website disables the separate diagnostic option to prevent duplicate booking and charges.
Do you service electric vehicles?
Yes. When an electric vehicle is identified, the website shows the dedicated EV Servicing option instead of petrol or diesel engine-size service bands.
How do I know which air-conditioning gas my vehicle uses?
Where the vehicle data confirms the refrigerant, the website selects either R134a or R1234yf. If that information is unavailable, both choices are shown for manual selection and you should call us if you are uncertain.
Specialist work, prices and changes
Why can’t every repair be booked online?
Work such as tyres, brakes, clutches, welding, wet belts and turbo repairs depends on the exact vehicle, symptoms and parts required. These services include call and email options so our team can confirm the correct first step.
Are the prices shown the final prices?
Fixed online services display the applicable price before booking. Specialist-service starting prices are guides, and the team will confirm the vehicle-specific work and price before it is authorised.
How do I change a booking or check the cancellation policy?
Call us on 01256 321012 to discuss a date or time change. The applicable cancellation information is shown during the online booking process, with the full terms available on the T & C’s page.
